About Needlee

Needlee is a home for your patterns and your progress. You create entries for all your patterns and their designers, and then all of the maths is done on your behalf. You set your end goal, and you track progress one stitch at a time as you work on a piece.

Your fabric stash lives here too. Write down each cut you own, and name the cut a pattern is worked on if you want to. A pattern needs no fabric, so this is a third thing you keep rather than a fourth step to do.

That is it. No counting backwards from the last row you are sure about, no guesswork, and no decision fatigue about what to work on, thanks to daily goals.

3. Watch the totals. A daily goal, a weekly count, and an honest picture of the pace you work at.

• Your place is a number. Not a guess, and not a memory of last Sunday evening.
• A large piece gets finished. A daily goal turns forty thousand stitches into a plan for reaching your deadline, or your preferred end date if you are anything like Libby.
• You learn your real pace. Weekly totals are the only honest way to know whether a deadline is a plan or a wish.
• Your work stays yours. Patterns and files are private until you choose otherwise, and the designers who made them stay credited.
• Your stash is written down. Every cut of linen, evenweave and aida you own, with its count, its colour, its dyer and how much of it is left. You know what you have before you buy more of it.
• Your files, your drive. Keep pattern PDFs in Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive if you would rather they lived with you.

My wife, Libby, cross-stitches. It is her craft and it is how she winds down, and I kept watching her lose a good part of an evening to working out which project to prioritise instead of stitching it.

So I built the thing she needed. That is also why it gets the careful version rather than the quick one — the person using it every day sits on my living room sofa, and a tool that works here makes her hobby genuinely less stressful. I want Needlee to succeed for that reason before any other.

One person builds and runs Needlee. That is why support is a real reply from the person who wrote the code, and why nothing on this site promises a feature that does not exist yet.

Needlee is in a closed beta, so the door opens to a few people at a time. Plenty is still to come, and the roadmap is shaped by what stitchers ask for rather than what is easy to build.
